Time to paint!

Wow what a project this is going to be ! Where as I should be spending my time crafting as making all the beautiful cards ...Ack! I decided to repaint one of the rooms in the house .. My husband and I bought this house almost 4 yrs ago . The entire house inside and out was the same color ! Yes inside AND out! I painted all the bedrooms and the kitchen was remodeled... However this was the room that bothered me the most ! So far I have one accent wall done ! What a change a little paint makes!
I'll post more pictures as I get more done ..

Note Card Box

Last Minute Craft Project
I had some extra time on my hands before we left for a BBQ with friends and thought I would try this really neat note card box. The only part I didn't get finished was to embellish the front of it .. I'll probably make a few more of these !
Always remember those that risked their lives to keep us safe ... Have a safe Memorial Day ..

Fancy fold pop out card

Happy Friday!
I found this Paper fold in a tutorial and really liked it..and when I like the look I just have to try it out!.
This was very easy!..I am a little stuck on the outside of the card, but the inside of it was a breeze!. I think I'll use other colors next time..I just happened to have some Black polka dot DSP laying around so I used it up!.
If you want the tutorial you can click here and try it out yourself!

Brick effect card

This card is a "practice" card following a tutorial for the Brick effect.. However I changed the colors due to not having the ones mentioned .
After finishing it , I realized it really does need to be done in the colors that are listed .. I think this one will go in my "I attempted the tutorial drawer of cards"... Hehehe

Potpourri envelope

I made this years ago at an open house as happened to run across it while cleaning out that mess of a craft room ( which is progressing lol ) , I thought this was a great idea and a simple "sweet smell" of a gift . I had made two and stuck one in the kitchen and our bedroom. Here's how to make one of your own.

Supplies: Standard Size Envelope (sealed), Paper Crimper (stampin up used to carry this, but you can use any embossing folder of your liking),Stamp Set of your choice (I used Printed Petals item # 120444, which you can purchase from me here , Ink Pads - Wisteria Wonder,Orchid Opulance (retired) and Lovely Lilac (retired).
Tag: Ovals Punch & Scallop Oval Punch
Ribbon

1. Take your envelope and seal the back of it, Measure about 3" down and cut straight across.
You'll then have two pieces. Top and Bottom.

2. Slide the Top part over the bottom part till it doesnt go any further.

3. Take your Slot Punch and punch a hole on both sides of the envelope.

Now you have two pieces with slots that will match up. Take them apart and lets move on to the next step.

4. Using your Stamp set of your choice, stamp the bottom part of your envelope.

5. Now take the top part of your envelope, using a Embossing folder (I used Stripes).
And your Desired Ink color, and wipe the ink pad on your embossing folder till its covered.
Like this below:

6. Carefully put the top of the envelope (sealed side down) and close the embossing folder.
Now run it through your Big shot.
You'll get something like this:

7. Now using your Paper Crimper run the bottom half through it. Or if you are using an embossing folder you can run that through your Big Shot.
It should look something like this depending on what you use.

8. Taking the bottom part, fill it with Potpourri. Once finished, slide the top part over the bottom. (It will be a little snug, but keep working at it, it will go in.
Once the two pieces are together, take a piece of ribbon and put it through the slots and tie it. This will hold both pieces together. Now add a Tag and sentiment of your liking and Joilaaa!..

You just made a Nice Smelling Potpourri Envelope you can place anywhere or give as a gift !

Tips and Tricks

One of my biggest "sighs" is when you are Embossing a card whether its with Vellum or On Whisper White CS, the edges sometimes start to curl, or the piece of CS or Vellum you are using starts to bend. Never a good look when you are trying to make a card.
Here's an easy tip:

When getting ready to emboss a card. Attach the CS to a Clipboard that has Aluminum foil (tinfoil as we call it) to the back of it. Then emboss your card. The "tinfoil" will draw the heat away from your card and you won't have any curled edges or bent CS.

I just use some two sided tape to adhere it to the back:

Father's Day Shirt

I found a lot of examples for the father's day shirt, and some of them are really cute.
I tried the tutorial last night and came up with this card. However, I had to change the dimensions because doing it the way the tutorial said (5 1/2 x 12 cs) it was way too big to fit into a standard medium envelope. So I tried it again, my opinion? Its cute but it sure is plain looking!..I think I'm going jazz it up some..lol

Happy Saturday!

Mini Box Tutorial

Mini Box Tutorial

I think this is one of the easiest boxes to make. I like the look of DSP paper box instead of a plain CS box. So I made the box out of DSP and CS.

Step 1. Cut a Piece of Cardstock 6 x 11

2. Cut another piece of DSP this time the same size ( 6 x 11 )
Then glue the two together making sure you really get the corners adhered down.
I used Tombo adhesive ( I love this stuff! )

Step 3. Score the 6" side at 1" and at 5".

Step 4. Score the 11" side at 1", 5", 6" and 10".
It should look like this below.

Tip: Remember to press down if using DSP as well so it
goes through both layers.

Step 5. Cut on the 1", 5", 6" and 10" just to the
                                                                             1" line.
It should look like this Below.

Step 7. Take your Bone folder and crease all your Scored lines.
Then take the side tabs and adhere them to the inside of the flaps so it forms a box.

Continue adhering the side tabs until it forms your box
completely.

Step 8. Close your box and decorate the way you wish!.
How Easy was that!!
